It was a period of low funding. Courageous scientists, cooperating from partnering universities, have won their first victory against the NSF Site Visit Team.

During the battle, UCLA PIs managed to learn secret strategies for NSF’s ultimate grant, the ENGINEERING RESEARCH CENTER, an institution with enough money to revolutionize multiferroics.

Questioned by NSF’s concerned Site Visit Team, Professor Carman races back to the TANMS room to prepare the answers that can save his students and restore funding to his lab. . . .
